• A Complete Martial Art

We strive to develop the complete martial artist.

    Mind, Body, Spirit

We seek to develop the mind, body and spirit  of each student through a martial art system called Mo Duk Pai kung fu.

    Each Student An Individual

We create an atmosphere that allows students to progress at their own rate while mastering a catalog of basic techniques, enabling creativity and improvisation in a variety of situations, from competition to street to daily life.

  • The Academy of Kung Fu is excited to be a part of this year’s event! On Saturday July 26th, we will be holding an Open House from 9am-Noon for the public to come and see what we do here. Kids will be featured from 9-10am and adults from 10am-Noon. What a great neighborhood! We have strived to add to this community, for decades now, creating more effective and compassionate people. I don’t see that business plan changing anytime soon.

Lessons in Efficiency   July 8th, 2014

Val’s seminar on the Art of Systema was a fantastic way to wrap up the holiday weekend. He brought new approaches to the ideas of movement, breathing, structure (remember the Cushy Chair!!), and relaxation. Huge thanks to Val for traveling cross country to share this info. We look forward to seeing him again soon!

2014 Mo Duk Pai Training Camp   June 9th, 2014

What a weekend! Top notch instruction on the roots of where we come from. Tributaries was the theme to this year’s camp held at Aldersgate Retreat Center. Students were exposed to a multitude of classes in various aspects of MDP. From the mentality of what makes our Arts so effective, to how the techniques have changed over time, students immersed themselves in their Art for a weekend of sweaty smiles. Huge thanks to all  the instructors who volunteered their time and talents. For the full gallery, click on Flickr page!

Saturday night into Mother’s Day, each student testing for their next rank put out an effort that their mother’s would and should be proud of. Regardless of pass/fail, the community witnessed an awesome event. Ferocity mixed with compassion on many different levels. Congratulations to Kyle Young for Brown sash, Ramiro Aguilera for Green sash, Paul Gilles for Blue/Green sash, Robin Wright for Blue sash and Louis Hodes for Purple/Blue sash. Shots from the Tournament!   May 4th, 2014

Great day of competition with 6 different Mo Duk Pai schools in attendance. Huge thanks to all the Blacks Belts, judges and helpers who volunteered their time and skills to make yesterday happen. We were able to run Grappling (for the first time in our System’s history), Forms then Sparring all within 3 hours, thanks to this great crew. Already looking forward to the next one. Oh, the ties in Forms, the redos, the fighting spirit! Here are some shots from yesterday’s action. Check out our Flickr page for all the action!
