• A Complete Martial Art

We strive to develop the complete martial artist.

    Mind, Body, Spirit

We seek to develop the mind, body and spirit  of each student through a martial art system called Mo Duk Pai kung fu.

    Each Student An Individual

We create an atmosphere that allows students to progress at their own rate while mastering a catalog of basic techniques, enabling creativity and improvisation in a variety of situations, from competition to street to daily life.

August is Video Feedback Month!   July 28th, 2011

August is Video Feedback Month at the Academy of Kung Fu!! Ever wonder what the heck I’m talking about when I say, “Keep your hands up!” or “You’re sitting still – you need to angle!” or “The blinkies are setting in!”? Well, August is the time to SEE what I’m talking about rather than just hearing it. All AKF adult students are invited to bring their cameras to any class and video any and all drills/forms/fights/movements that they would like some visual feedback on. It’s one thing to hear an instructor tell you to do something, but its another to see yourself in action and (hopefully) realize why the instructor gave you that feedback.
We’ll keep it simple. You film it on your camera. You go home and watch it. We (the instructors) can either tell you what to look for, or you can just watch and draw your own conclusions. Look for the good as well as the bad -don’t turn it into a “Boy, I suck!” session. It should all be good grist for the mill.
Remember, this is for your benefit. Please do not post videos of any other classmates to FB, YouTube, etc., without permission. Be respectful.
I look forward to August being a chance to gain new perspective in all the hard work you guys have been putting into your training!
